Kelly Hughs is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Bodyworker, Certified Yoga Instructor, Intuitive Structural Body Reader and Educator with twenty-seven years of experience in the field of healing. Kelly created and directed operations at the Palms of Largo Holistic Wellness Center in Largo Florida for six years. Upon relocating to Knoxville, Kelly co-owned and operated The Center of Rehabilitative Education (C.O.R.E.) Massage Institute for twelve years where she taught students the fundamentals of massage and prepared them for the National State Board. Kelly also owned Gold Medal Sports Massage and Core Family Yoga Center where she utilized her skills as both a Sports Therapist and Yoga Instructor to educate her students and client’s on proper body mechanics, combined with the many benefits of Therapeutic Bodywork. Kelly Served as the Director of Clinical Services at Massage Envy Spa @ Northshore located in Knoxville Tennessee and Hamilton Crossings located in Alcoa Tennessee. Her position allowed her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of fellow Massage Therapist through supervision, continued education, and compassion.
Kelly and her husband Matt co-own IMS- Integrative Medicinal Studies where they offer continuing education trainings, workshops, retreats and R.E.S.T. Intensives, as well as Conscious Living Coaching and Therapeutic Services.
The R.E.S.T. 7 day Intensive Training will provide the Massage Therapist with the advanced clinical skill of understanding Emotional Anatomy and the application of the interpretation when working with structural distortions of the body. Instruction will be provided on how to perform a Body Analysis, utilizing the Ten Session Protocol as a guide, to determine the areas of fascia restriction. Training in the technique of myofascial spreading as the primary modality accompanied by lecture, demonstration and hands-on application. By the end of the 7- Day Intensive Training the Massage Therapist will be capable of creating a Report of Findings that illustrates the progression of each session to include pre and post photographs, clinical documentation based on reflective listening skills and post session documentation provided by the client located on the R.E.S.T. Confidential Medical History Form.
R.E.S.T. is a gentle modality allowing for the therapist to provide a profound and effective form of bodywork, with lasting results, without requiring the physical hard labor of many modalities in the mainstream field of massage therapy.
The methodology behind R.E.S.T. is in alignment with the science of Epigenics that states that it’s the Environment and Belief Systems within the cells of the body themselves and in a person’s current life that determine a person’s mental and physical well-being. The environment of the physical and non-physical properties of the connective tissue and the energetic vibratory rate of an individual determines their health.
I have experienced my first session. It was amazing!! I have had back pain for about 15-20 years. After 1 session I have very little to no back pain. I am trying to get my photography business going with very little success, but after 1 session things are coming together and starting to move forward. I have completed 3 sessions with Kelly and my body and my pain as well as my need to control are making great transitions. After the first session, my chronic right sided neck pain, that I have had for 20 years moved away . When the pain comes, I speak my affirmations and it goes away so much quicker. I was living with daily neck pain that was affecting my “everything”.
