The Body Speaks: An informative 4 -week series on the Body Mind Connection. The topic of “stress in today’s culture” will be explored and how our environments and belief systems have a direct impact on our physical health and emotional well-being. Kelly Hughs is a licensed Massage Therapist and Educator with 28 years of experience working with individuals suffering from stress induced chronic pain. She is the developer of Restorative Emotive Structural Therapy (R.E.S.T.) and has a private practice located in Knoxville Tennessee, where client’s participate in a ten session treatment protocol that has been proven to be effective in the elimination of physical pain and emotional suffering. Kelly will provide information that is easily understood by the beginner to intermediate student on how the body speaks in a non-verbal language demonstrated in posture and symptoms. This 4 week series is designed to help the student understand how the mind and body identifies stressful situations and what automatically takes place within the body to protect our physical and emotional well being. By the completion of the 4th week, the student will have a variety of proactive options to utilize that can be easily implemented into their everyday lifestyle to prevent the repetition of stressful experiences that cause physical pain and emotional suffering.
