Presidents Letter March 2015

Greetings,

As March begins, we are bouncing between snow, ice, rain and back again.
It’s often said of Springtime in East Tennessee, if you don’t like the weather, just wait an hour or so – it will change.  Ah, but the early daffodils are blooming and drawing my thoughts to the renewal of life and energy that is Spring.

Come celebrate renewal with us at this month's CHEO presentations for great information that will coach us into that exciting energy!   On Monday, March 9th, Carol Montgomery will share do-it-yourself tips to detoxify and refresh your living space for a happier, healthier, ecologically energized environment as you Go Green Gently.  On Wednesday March 25th, Tammy Hardin will teach Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), the self-administered tapping technique to quickly release stress and anxiety, and revitalize your positive energy.  Now is the time to Embrace the New!

All the Best of Health,

Rosemary Koziara, President 2015

Q. Tell us about yourself.

A: I am originally from Russia.  I grew up in a town built around a Science Institute (similar to Oak Ridge) in the Ural Mountains area.  In 1994 I graduated from Moscow State University with a professional degree in Clinical Psychology.  I worked in a Drug Treatment Clinic, in private practice, and in schools providing psychological services.  I came to the USA in March 2001 with my husband and our daughter. Since then I lived in Ames, IA and Austin, TX.  I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University in 2008. I have been in Knoxville since 2008 and am in private practice in Knoxville.  I live with my husband German, our 17 year old daughter Genya, and cat Bindi.

Q. What is the one thing you would most like us to know about yourself?

A: I practice what I preach. My daily life includes meditation, yoga, journaling, and focus on healthy eating. I have been in personal therapy for years now. I am committed to continuously learning about and deepening my understanding of myself.  By doing all of those things that I am asking my clients to do, I can appreciate how difficult it is to incorporate those practices in daily life. Therefore,  I can guide and support my clients in their own healing and wellness-related changes.
