Greetings,

CHEO of Greater Knoxville Area's 5th anniversary celebration was a great success!  I wish to extend a special thank you to Paul Kelly for his beautiful venue and for an outstanding program presentation. Our sincere appreciation to Eddie Reymond, owner of Eddie's Health Shoppe, for his generous support in providing gift certificates to our volunteers.

CHEO is blessed with a wonderful team of Volunteers who have been instrumental in building a strong foundation, along with our Supporting Members and Practitioners, for our continuing mission of "Discovering Options for Holistic Wellness" in our Knoxville area communities.

November Member Spotlight 2014

Volunteers Honored at 2014 Annual Meeting

Volunteers are the Heartbeat of CHEO!  Volunteers help at Program meetings with seating set-up and clean-up, greeting attendees at the sign-in table, distributing flyers and directories throughout the year, arranging special events like Movie Nights, staffing the booth at Healthy Living Expo, special projects and all the little details that make the organization run smoothly.  A sincere Thank You for your commitment and all that you do to make possible raising awareness and knowledge about Complementary and Holistic Wellness Options in our Knoxville area communities.

AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda is an unconventional biography about the Hindu Swami who brought yoga and meditation to the West in the 1920s.  Paramahansa Yogananda authored the spiritual classic “Autobiography of a Yogi,” which has sold millions of copies worldwide and is a go-to book for seekers, philosophers and yoga enthusiasts today including George Harrison and Steve Jobs.  By personalizing his own quest for enlightenment and sharing his struggles along the path, Yogananda made ancient Vedic teachings accessible to a modern audience, attracting many followers and inspiring the millions who practice yoga today.

Dental Research from the Body Farm

Presenter: Dr. Gary M. McCown, DDS, MAGD

Did you know that research reveals a direct connection between dental disease and systemic illness?  Dr. McCown will reveal how root canals, periodontal disease and osteonecrosis (cavitations) can cause systemic disease.  He will also explain the connection between mercury/silver fillings and neurological illnesses like Parkinson's and ALS.  Dr. McCown practices holistic dentistry in Knoxville.
